- United '74 Inc. was formed in 2009 and incorporated in 2012. The organization is comprised of individuals who purposely joined together to maximize their collective efforts to have an impactful effect in the lives of underserved members of the community.
- For the past 10 years United '74 has worked with the principals and guidance counselors, shelter and nursing home directors to determine how to be of help.
- Additionally, the organization identifies families with school age children, who have become displaced and forced to live in nontraditional dwellings. During the course of a year, a family's circumstance can and have a negatively impact students and family members impairing their ability to focus, concentrate and compete. In an effort to be supportive, United '74 been of assistance, satisfying the immediate needs until other resources are made available to the family.
United '74 Inc., with the support of the community instills the concept of "expectations of excellence" through the development of a competitive spirit in youth and reminding parents that they too possess that spirit they work a little harder in all they do, striving to be the best they can be. Echoing and supporting the efforts and teachings of parents, educators, spiritual, and civic leaders. Individuals begin to understand that expectations are what motivates them to study, prepare and accept help if they want to change and improve their condition. Each subsequent generation, is not only expected to be responsible, civic minded, spiritually lead, productive citizens, but better prepare than the previous one and communities must be ready, willing, and able to assist, until each family is capable of sustaining itself. Safe, clean, and sustained communities are an indication of a communities' growth and health and is due to its members being concerned and productive and whose expectations and demands of each other are being met.
